AGENDA REGULAR SESSION OF THE SLATER CITY COUNCIL
7:30 MODAY MAY 7, 2007
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SLATER,
IOWA, WILL MEET AT CITY HALL, 105 GREENE ST., SLATER, IOWA AT 7:30 P.M. ON THE 7th
DAY OF MAY, 2007, TO CONSIDER THE MATTERS ON THE AGENDA BELOW:
1. Call the meeting to order – Roll Call (7:30 P.M.)
2. Citizen input forum is an opportunity for citizens to speak to the
Council on matters not listed on the agenda
NOTE no formal action can be taken on matters not listed on the
agenda
- Law enforcement reports for April 2007 (7:30 – 7:40)
- Joe Bowers – Alliant Energy (7:40 – 7:50)
- Dog situation Ron & Rose Locker (7:50 – 8:00)
- True North – Health Insurance representative present to discuss
renewal options (8:00 -8:20)
3. Consent agenda: these items are considered to be routine items and
will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion on these
items unless a Council Member or Citizen requests it. In which event, the item
will be removed from the general order of business and considered separately
(8:20)
- Approve and place on file the minutes of the regular meeting April 16,
2007
4. Old Business: (8:20 P.M. – 9:30 P.M.)
- Continue Pool Project discussion and update on work required to open
- Potential closed session to discuss strategy with counsel in matters
that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent where
its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the position
of the governmental body in that litigation
- Consider Resolution Accepting Settlement Agreement on the Pool Project
- Consider Resolution Rejecting Settlement Agreement on the Pool Project
- Discuss preliminary draft of storm water ordinance to prepare for 1st
reading on May 21, 2007
- Council input regarding information relating to policy &
procedures for special events
- Set special meeting for budget amendment hearing

Pursuant to Chapter 21 of the Code of Iowa, this notice is given at the
direction of the Mayor at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the
meeting. The official notice was posted at the City Hall accessible to the
public.
