AGENDA REGULAR SESSION OF THE SLATER CITY COUNCIL

7:30 MODAY MAY 21, 2007

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SLATER, IOWA, WILL MEET AT CITY HALL, 105 GREENE ST., SLATER, IOWA AT 7:30 P.M. ON THE 21st DAY OF MAY, 2007, TO CONSIDER THE MATTERS ON THE AGENDA BELOW:

1.  Call the meeting to order – Roll Call (7:30 P.M.)

2.  Citizen input forum is an opportunity for citizens to speak to the Council on matters not listed on the agenda NOTE no formal action can be taken on matters not listed on the agenda

  • Report on animal control issue

Consent agenda: these items are considered to be routine items and may be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion on these items unless a Council Member or Citizen requests it. In which event, the item will be removed from the general order of business and considered separately (7:40)

  • Approve and place on file the minutes of the regular meeting May 7, 2007
  • Ratify action writing off bad debts on six accounts totaling $654.60 said accounts are #250000 - $151.97; #680000 - 235.16; #930000 $144.06; #4710000 – $6.00; #6000000 -$34.32; and #6040000 $83.09.
  • Approval of expenditures

 

3.   Old Business: (7:40 P.M. – 9:00 P.M.)

  • Discussion of sewer, water, & solid waste recovery/clean-up rates
  • Continue discussion of Four mile creek storm water modeling engineering agreement
  • Continue discussion of Storm water utility ordinance (first reading ?)
  • Contract for water tower maintenance with Utility Service Co.
  • Status of pool opening preparation & Gibbs proposal for sod
  • Continue discussion of the True North Health insurance renewal

4.  New Business:

  • Story County Emergency Management 28E amendment
  • A RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO THE PAYING AGENT/REGISTRAR
  • Consider Board of Adjustment appointment Bradon Huen
  • Senior Citizens group disbanded and turned over $20.55 closing South Story Bank account #837-00001-01
