AGENDA REGULAR SESSION OF THE SLATER CITY COUNCIL

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF  SLATER, IOWA, WILL MEET AT CITY HALL , 105 GREENE ST.,  SLATER, IOWA AT 7:30  P.M. ON THE 6TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 2007, TO CONSIDER THE MATTERS ON THE AGENDA BELOW:

1.      Call the meeting to order – Roll Call ( 7:30 P.M. )  

2.      Oath of Office for Council Member Tim Locker

3.      Recognition of LaDonna Chriswell for her 26 years of public service

4.      Citizen input forum is an opportunity for citizens to speak to the Council on matters not listed on the agenda NOTE no formal action can be taken on matters not listed on the agenda.  

5.      Consent agenda: these items are considered to be routine items and may be enacted by one motion.  There will be no separate discussion on these items unless a Council Member or Citizen requests it.  In which event, the item will be removed from the general order of business and considered separately ( 7:45 )

  • Approve and place on file the minutes of the regular meeting of  November 14, 2007 and the minutes of the special meetings of November 19, 2007 and November 29, 2007 .
  • Approval of expenditures

  • First consideration of the Planning and Zoning, ZONING ORDIANANCE
  • First consideration of the Planning and Zoning, SUBDIVISION ORDIANANCE
  • Third consideration and adoption of AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT SPECIAL RESTRICTION (226)  [R38/North Linn]
  • Update and future direction on dangerous buildings
  • Discussion regarding the Public Works Director applications
  • Park board funding request for playground equipment

7.      New Business: ( 9:30-9:45 )

  • Recommendation of appointment for Don Schick to the Planning and Zoning Commission
  • Liquor License renewal request  for Casey’s General Store
