Independence Day Celebration

In the odd years, Slater holds a celebration for the Fourth of July. With eight to ten thousand people filling the streets of Slater it is definitely a time for fun. The celebration is full of stage events, recreation events, kids events and other entertainment. Also included in the celebration is a parade, tractor pull, a car and craft show, a carnival and who could forget the fireworks. This celebration is sure to fill everyone with spirit.

Christmas on Main

At the beginning of the Christmas season a tree lighting is done for all who want to join. A large tree is donated every year, decorated and lit in the middle of Main Street in Slater. Along with the lighting of the tree people can participate in horse drawn rides, singing and various drawings. Everyone also has a chance to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
